"cool hotel..reccomended" Tverskaya is a nice, comfortable clean hotel, only 3 mins walk from belaruskaya metro station and tverskaya station. me and my girl stayed for 4 nights in july, my first stay in moscow! we encountered very few problems with the hotel, though the 1st one appeared within 2 mins of appearing at reception, the russians seem to fix there ruble rates against the dollar, this changes depending on what hotel you are in...this time it was 32 rubles to 1cu (difference between euro & dollar) was not so much a problem just annoying!!! but reasonably priced for moscow hotels!. The only other problems was with the cleaners, we had do not disturb signs on our door and still the cleaners knocked...then they took to calling us to ask when we wanted our room cleaning. when they did clean our room, they left sbarro pizza boxes (with half eaten pizza) in the room. we did get a free chocolate on our pillow though ;) The location of the hotel is good, only 30/40 mins walk, its surrounded by plenty of coffee shops and food outlets, there is also a great little supermarket ony 100 yards out the back of the hotel (just turn right and walk up road , you will see it..big and green on the left). Decor is nice, bed VERY comfortable ;) ;) good tv stations also, even nickelodeon for spongebob squarepants!! its only about 30 mins from the airport, but do beware..use the norml taxis..they will charge 2500 rubles for a texi to the airport if booked through marriot...alot more than it should be!!! as with any hotel in large cities, just be carefull. i would definately stay here again, nice and peacfull inside, nice and busy and easy to get around outside. they could do with teaching the staff to crack a smile now and again though :) they are also very good in assisting you with your visa forms should you require it...like me!!

"it really grows on you" Three weeks in the marriott this summer, seemed like a long time for a hotel room, however the experience was very much better than expected. On arrival the only room available was very small, and the staff promptly moved us the next day to a more suitable room(for the length of stay). There was absolutely no incident to complain about, the front desk obtained unobtainable tickets for the ballet, and the staff were marvelllous. Having spent some months in Moscow, I really can recommend this hotel , especially as they offered a major discount for long stay.I must say value for money, although not as luxurious as the Marriott grand, the cost was 50% less! Every day the room was made up at a specified time and well up to the Marriott standard worldwide. The location is on one of the streets to the Kremlin, with many restaurants, and great shopping. It is good for those that enjoy walking, as the walk to the Krelim and back fills an afternoon. There are many exciting places to eat in Moscow , so we did not use the restaurants much, but the bar off the reception/entrance provided some really enjoyable meals. (Having stayed at the Marriott Grand a couple of months earlier, it is not the same class, and therefore can not be fairly compared.)
