"Fabulous hotel, perfect stay"
I travel alot for work, but this hotel was by far one of the best hotel experiences I've had. The room was beautiful, spacious, and had every amenity. The bathroom in particular was HUGE, with granite countertops and floors, a separate large shower, and lovely large tub. It was 3 times the size of mine at home!
Bed was very comfy, 2 closets were roomy and spotless. Internet use was a breeze to use, but expensive. I was leery about the service, due to the poor reviews I'd read earlier, but I needn't have worried. Service was polite, impeccable and immediate. The concierge made reservations for us for dinner, checked our airline tickets, was always ready to help in any way. Housekeeping staff does not speak English, but they did a magnificent job each day.
The hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous. It's a larger hotel than it seems. The architecture makes it feel more like a cozy boutique hotel.
The location is amazing. It's right next to the beautiful Bolshoi Theater, 2 metros are a block away, as is Red Square and 3 shopping malls. We ate at several phenomenol restaurants that were within walking distance.
The only problem with the hotel is price, but that's true all over Moscow. We had a continental breakfast in the main cafe the first day, and were shocked to discover it came to nearly $100 US. Because we're Hyatt Gold members were got free coffee once a day. There is a beautiful bar on the top floor, with a glass ceiling that has amazing views of the city -- but just get a beer because I cocktails are $35 -- no joke. And I ordered a soup and appetizer that cost me $60.
One place that is reasonable in the hotel is the first floor Armenian restaurant. The food is delectable, the atmosphere is beautiful, and they even have reasonably priced wines by the glass.
I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Moscow after this perfect stay.

"Excellent Hotel."
We stayed at the Ararat Hyatt four times last summer and enjoyed all stays.
The hotel is very well located with Red Square about 2 blocks away. There are also great places to eat and shop close to the hotel.
As for the rooms, we stayed in several types and all were very nice. The only room that was not great was the modern one bedroom suite which had a glass wall seperating the bedroom from the living room. Since we were traveling with our 3 year old daughter, this did not work for us. Once we put our daughter to sleep, we could not watch tv or make any noise since the rooms were only seperated by thin glass. However, on our next stay, we requested a traditional one room suite and received it. We also stayed in the Winter Garden suite which was amazing!! This suite, which was crazy expensive, had everything possible. It had one large bedroom with a walk-in closet and huge marble bathroom. It had a large living room with a half bath and a modern plasma TV. The best part of the suite was the giantic glass enclosed room that overlooked Red Square. This room had a dinning table and sitting area and an incredible view.
Both the Cafe Ararat and the Park Restaurant have great food and service. The hotels breakfast is served in the Park restaurant and has an excellent selection of fruit, cheese, yogurt, bread and juices. Room service was good but not excellent. However, we learned that you can order food from the hotel's restaurants through room service. The food from the Cafe Ararat and the Park is much better than food from the room service kitchen.
The staff at the Ararat was ok. Many were nice and helpful. However, some only supplied the typical Eastern European service. My feeling is that if you offer a hotel with high western standards at NYC prices, you need to offer service that matches.
We have also stayed at the Hotel Kempiniski in Moscow. However, we thought the Ararat was much better.

"Exactly what you'd expect from a hotel of this class"
I stayed at the Ararat Park Hyatt for 3 days recently on a business trip. The hotel is very nice and is in a good location, close to the Red Square. Contrary to what people have said in other reviews, the staff were very friendly and helpful although a bit artificial. The one thing I didn't like as a business traveller was that you really need to book hotel cars in advance, otherwise they run out of them, and they have to get you a car from an outside agency, whose driver will most likely not speak English. On the positive side, free fruit in the room every day was a nice touch, and the bar on the top floor was great thanks to the views (although incredibly expensive!). Overall not a good value for money as everything in Moscow, but a good and convenient hotel, although I will definitely try the Ritz next time, once it opens on July 1st.

"Fantastic!"
The Hyatt is THE place to stay when in Moscow. My colleagues and I travel to Moscow extensively and often plan our travel around the Hyatt's availability (busy in the Summer!).
The decor, staff, location & restruarnts are all A1. Suitable for conferences, meetings & champagne reception. Many conferences are held at the dated National which is deseperate for renovation. Switch to the busy Hyatt and you'll never look back!
